PROJECT: Full Refurbishment, Clacton-On-Sea

RLH are very happy to share this full refurbishment with you. Based in Holland-On-Sea, this 1950's bungalow was in need of modernising and our team made a great job of it. Featuring two new extensions, we utilised the space on the plot; taking it from a 2 bed to a 3 bed and giving the homeowners a large open-plan living space to the rear of the property. Read on for more information.

Extensions

This project features two extensions. The first is a 3m x 4m addition located at the front of the bungalow, creating a light and spacious en suite for the master bedroom. Using marble effect tiles on the walls and floor, this room has a luxury feel to it, perfectly complimented by the sleek, modern suite fitted within.

The second 6m x 3m extension is to the rear of the bungalow, combining the old and the new to create a large open-plan kitchen and living area. The space is very light and spacious, using large windows, sliding doors and a skylight to pull as much of the light from the outside in. With French doors going into the third bedroom/snug area, it gives the homeowners the option of privacy or to open up the space further. This addition to the house also allows the homeowners to enjoy the beautiful garden all year round, opening up and extending the living space to the outdoors in the summer, and enjoying the elements whilst staying warm during the winter months. We are very happy with the outcome of both additions to this bungalow, giving the homeowners a much more positive living experience.

Kitchen

The generously sized kitchen is set in the existing building, which now flows into the new open-plan living area. RLH wanted to make sure that this was an open and sociable space for the homeowner, and with the cooking appliances facing onto the living area and the breakfast bar crossing over the two areas, it achieves just that. The marble effect worktop paired with the grey units makes for a light space with a luxurious feel; a modern yet classic style that is timeless.

Rear Garden

The rear garden of the property is a fantastic size and just needed a bit of life injected back into it. To achieve this, RLH took up the existing slabs and laid new turf. We laid Indian sandstone slabs on the patio area, wrapping round to the front of the bungalow and down the side of the existing garage. We also built a wall to separate the garden from the garage area; rendered and painted white to match the exterior of the garage and the main property.

Additional Details

- The bungalow had all new UPVC windows installed along with a new, high quality front door.

- The exterior was re-rendered and painted white, making the outside look as modern and stylish as the interior.

Below are some more pictures showing how RLH completed the other areas of the house. Overall we're extremely happy with the outcome of this project, and hope the homeowners enjoy living in this beautiful property.
